Paul is a proven financial leader who believes in the power of customer service to drive business. He encourages employees to know and understand Members’ needs. Before taking the reins at Gateway in March 2005, he spent 12 years in various executive roles at the national credit union association (CUSCAL).
Under Paul’s watch Gateway has grown into a recognised and respected Australian credit union, delivering great value and talked-about services. He’s overseen award winning loan packages that have received recognition from Australia’s leading best financial guides, including Money Magazine, CANSTAR and Mozo.
During hours First thing in the morning, you’ll find him walking through the office wishing employees a pleasant day.
After hours In Paul’s spare time he’s a public speaker, writes blogs, has published his second book, and is a proud family man, who’s also an ocean swimmer.
Gerald’s role is to work with the business and the Board to align strategic and operational efforts to an agreed risk framework. He leads Gateway’s Risk Governance Division where his team actively oversees all elements of credit and operational risk including credit management, compliance and the development of policies and procedures.
Gerald has worked in financial services for over 30 years in both sales and risk roles and that experience across the sector is fully utilised in his role at Gateway.
During hours Gerald works closely and effectively with his team to cover the many facets of the Risk functions. His team always agree with him and one day hope to be like him. Some say he’s occasionally prone to exaggeration - this is unlikely.
After hours In Gerald’s spare time he’s a triathlete, a yachtsman, mechanic and musician, each unfortunately to about the same standard. As he often says, “I may not be a winner, but I am a finisher”.
Peter is responsible for the Finance, Treasury, Business Systems and Lending &Transaction support functions as Gateway’s finest CPA. As our CFO since 2006, he knows exactly how to forecast for our future. He believes in economic strategic planning and leading innovation to improve our business.
Prior to joining Gateway, Peter held executive financial roles in major global businesses across retail banking, industrial gas manufacturing and shipping.
During hours His love of the world has him listening to BBC World Service podcast whilst walking to the train station. This ensures that Peter and his team discuss the best opportunities for our business in keeping up with global trends.
After hours When not spending time with his family, or watching the rugby, Peter tries to stay fit enough to occasionally indulge his life-long interest in trekking in the Himalaya.
Lexi is our Chief Customer Officer, responsible for the customer experience, product development, marketing and PR.
Before joining Gateway, Lexi held a number of customer strategy roles across a variety of industries in Australia and the UK, including financial services, telecoms and postal services.
During hours In the mornings, you’ll find her enjoying a giant ‘Starbucks’ coffee with her team first thing to plan the day.
After hours In Lexi’s spare time she likes to try something new including indoor sky diving, trampolining and Geocaching.
