How to Minimise to Fees & Charges

Loading...

Gateway has no monthly account keeping fees on its deposit accounts and payment services making it easy to take control of your banking. By following a few helpful hints, in many instances, you can avoid paying fees at all.

Always use rediATM, Cashcard & NAB ATMs
Gateway’s ATM network is one of the largest networks in Australia.  So, when withdrawing cash from an ATM it’s easy to always use a rediATM, Cashcard or NAB ATM and avoid being charged a fee from the ATM owner.

Pay by EFTPOS
If you happen to not have access to one of the ATMs in Gateway’s network, you can consider making a purchase by EFTPOS.  Many retailers allow you to pay by EFTPOS and withdraw cash at the same time.

Avoid “staff assisted” transactions
If you are writing cheques to pay for regular payments or asking staff to make transactions for you, you may be paying unnecessary fees.  It’s easy to avoid these fees with the availability of Direct Debits, BPAY payments, Online Banking and CUE Call.

Avoid Dishonour Fees
You can easily avoid dishonour fees by ensuring that you always have sufficient cleared funds in your account to cover any withdrawals and/or debits.  It is always a good idea to check your account balance before you write a cheque or make a transaction.  And, keep track of your EFTPOS payments and scheduled payments that may not have been processed.

Online Banking
By using Online Banking in addition to having 24/7 access to your finances, you can save money on fees by viewing up to date balances, making one-off or recurring money transfers to accounts at other Australian financial institutions, pay and schedule bill payments using BPAY to thousands of organisations.

CUE Call (Telephone Banking)
With CUE Call you can get account information and balances and do your banking by simply calling 1300 302 474 and following the prompts.
