There are several factors that may prevent you from accessing the Online Banking site, they include:
1. ‘Cookies’ are not enabled
Cookies must be enabled. A ‘cookie’ must be saved on your computer during the first access to the site, therefore the browser’s security options must have cookies enabled. (For more details look in FAQ under Technical Support "What is a cookie?")
2. Bookmarked Online Banking page
If you have bookmarked the Online Banking site as a favourite you will not be able to access the site. You should delete the bookmark as well as your temporary internet files.
3. Browser may not support 128bit encryption
The best way to ensure that you are using 128bit encryption is to use the latest version of the web browser of your choice.
4. An old version of ‘Microsoft Java Virtual Machine’
As Java script is used in the banking application, the following settings must also be applied: Java Permission has to be 'High Safety' and the scripting of Java applets needs to be 'Enabled'. The latest version should be installed and is available from here.
Help for Apple Mac users
Gateway Credit Union’s Online Banking will work in the Apple Macintosh environment. However, security settings and specifically those relating to Java and cookies may impact transaction performance. In most cases this will only impact on external transactions including BPay and external transfers.
For a MAC user using Internet Explorer
Microsoft stopped supporting Internet Explorer for MAC in 2003, so we are unable to provide ongoing support however, we would recommend using either Safari (version 2 or later) or Firefox for MAC.
