Telegraphic Transfers
A Telegraphic Transfer (TT) is a secure, convenient and electronic means of depositing funds directly into an account overseas. The payee generally receives payment within 72 hours.
TTs are the preferred method to make large value international payments as they are processed quickly, cost effectively and securely in over 100 currencies.
To organise a Telegraphic Transfer, please complete a Telegraphic Transfer or Bank Draft Application form and return it to Gateway.
Foreign Currency Bank Drafts
Foreign currency bank drafts, commonly called drafts or foreign currency cheques, are issued in 16 major currencies. They offer a secure way to send small amounts of money overseas or when you do not know the banking details of the person you need to send money to.
To organise a Bank Draft, please complete a Telegraphic Transfer or Bank Draft Application form and return it to Gateway.

With over 60 currencies available, we are likely to be able to provide your preferred currency.
Order Foreign Cash online now and collect from an American Express Foreign Exchange office of your choice. If we receive your payment via BPAY by 4pm EST you will be able to collect your order within 48 hours.

American Express Travellers Cheques
American Express Travellers Cheques are a safe and easy way to protect your spending money whilst travelling. They are available in 6 major currencies and usually replaceable within 24 hours if lost or stolen. There is also no expiration date so you can always save unused Cheques for another trip.
Order Travellers Cheques online now and collect from an American Express Foreign Exchange office of your choice. If we receive your payment via BPAY by 4pm EST you will be able to collect your order within 48 hours.

Encashment Services
Should you have unused Travellers Cheques, a foreign currency cheque or draft, you can exchange these for Australian Dollars in person at our Gateway branch in Sydney or via the mail.
If using the mail option your cheque must be endorsed by writing on the back of the cheque “payable to Gateway Credit Union” with the date, your printed name and signature accompanied with a deposit slip.
