From small beginnings
Formed in 1955 when a group of staff from one of Australia’s largest banks saw the need for a co-operative Loans Society, the original office comprised a briefcase and a receipt book.
In 1959 we became C.B.O.A Credit Union Co-operative Ltd before evolving into Gateway Credit Union Ltd on 1 July 1998.
And today?
From a briefcase to a leading Credit Union, Gateway has come a long way in over 50 years. In fact, we now have a membership in excess of 50,000 with assets of more than $600 million.
Plus we offer a range of award winning products and services specially designed to help secure the financial future of our Members.
Who can join?
Anyone can become a Member, you do not need to work in a particular industry or belong to a certain club to join Gateway. Eligibility to become a Member depends on successfully completing the Membership form along with the Identity Certification process and paying the $2 share subscription.
